Giraffe ( Giraffa camelopardalis )
the ancient Romans called giraffes "camelopards" a hybrid name describing
them as animals with camel bodies with leopard spots. The giraffe is the
tallest animal in the world. Baby giraffes are born six feet tall and can
grow an inch a day. Giraffes live up to 25 years in the wild and sometimes
longer at zoos. |

A Giraffe's main food is the acacia tree,
the tree has thorns but the long muscular tonge of the giraffe is adapted
to select, gather and pluck foliage. A Giraffe can eat 16-20 hours a day
and consume about 65 pounds of foliage. They move both right legs forward,
